Exodus 14:15 And the Lord said to Moses, Wherefore criest thou to me? Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward
In the mist of all that we are dealing with in today's world, it is easy to look back at what once was and have hopes that things were different in the present day. It can be difficult to let things go and move on with life to the next chapter. Sometimes when you take a deeper look at things, you can realize that holding on to the past is causing more damage than letting go of it. I think many of us have been in this place at least once in their lifetime, if only for a few moments, where we contemplate the why's and wonder where God is truly taking us in this journey. When I was stuck in this place, my son said to me, " Move forward mommy", and it hit me like a ton of bricks. It is so funny to me how in the most awkward moments your children can say such profound things to us. In that moment my son showed me how much he really had been listening to me ramble off life lessons to him so many times. But what he said to me, I needed to hear. I think God speaks to us in mysterious ways, we have to just be open to receive it. You see, my problem was deep down inside and I wasn't ready to let go of the past. What I realized is the moment you are willing to let go of the past, God will open another door for you to walk through, if you just believe and have faith.
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen
Sometimes the trials that we all go through is just clearing the path for the new horizon and preparing us for the next best thing in life. We don't always understand it at the the time it may occur, but later it will be revealed. When it is, that is when you have that moment and you say, " Oh, that was you God! Thank you!", and you become full of gratitude. It is so easy to look at the negative side of things when that is all you see around you, but you must try and find a piece of good in it and focus on the good. Find the small things in life to be grateful for and remember that everything happens for a reason. I think at times we try so hard to control the things around us because we want and desire things to go well all the time, I know I am guilty of doing this. We must realize that when we try to control things, we are not being present. We are not allowing life to flow. Each day is a gift and not every gift that we receive we like, but we appreciate it anyway because it was the thought that counted. Keep pushing your way through and try to smile.
Remember that after the rain, the sun comes out to shine and if God sees fit, you may just be blessed enough that day to lay your eyes on a rainbow.
