The Simple Things

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."~Hebrews 13:5
Waking up in the morning open my eyes
Twist open the blinds watch the sunrise
Stretch out my legs
Walk downstairs for breakfast, scrambled eggs
Hot cup of coffee
Aroma of my favorite creamer
Sit on the front porch breathe in the fresh air
Gaze at the birds flying in pairs
Droplets of dew on the ground
The silhouette of the moon can still be found
Pluck a blade of grass from the front yard
Enjoying life on Earth really isn't that hard
Look to my hands
I find a grain of sand
Amazing how a single speck
Is so much more than an inadequate fleck
Millions of atoms and cells combined together
Scientist can't seem to understand if they will ever
Truly understand what we "call our world"
The concept has got me all whirled
Up about why we're here
Or what we believe
But as for me
All I care about
Are the simple things
See what you're not seeing
It's the Simple Things
